No, I'm Not Endorsing Anyone

The day after the primary, I was approached by the campaigns of both Chris Johnson and Thomas Just, seeking my endorsement for the run-off.
I won't be making an endorsement in this race.
Texas is somewhat unique in that it selects its trial court judges by direct election and, at the same time, has very little in the way of regulations concerning how trial lawyers can affect the outcome of those elections. As you might imagine, this is a situation ripe for abuse. In all of the years I have been a lawyer, I have seen plenty of instances in which lawyers have curried favor with judicial candidates at election time in the hopes of getting favorable outcomes on cases later.
I think this is wrong. That's why, over the past 36 years, I have not contributed to judicial candidates or made an endorsements in judicial races.
I won't be making an exception this time. I will, of course, support the entire Democratic ticket in November, regardless of who the nominee happens to be.
Chris and Thomas, good luck to both of you.
